You won't have to keep your puppies in a bucket or a loving cup...
If properly trained at an early age.
Puppy Kindergarten
Dogs under 6 months of age. Learn basic obedience, receive grooming tips, discuss general puppy care, socialize with people and other puppies. 1/2 hour sessions held on Wednesday evenings, 6:30 - 7:00.
* Puppies are taught to socialize with other dogs and people other than "their" people.
* They are taught to walk beside you, do sit-stays and down-stays.
* The concentration is on teaching them that new experiences should not be frightening. We build confidence and hopefully keep them from becoming fear biters as they grow up.
* The owners are taught how to teach their puppy that they are the "boss" in a very non-threatening, harmless way.
* We concentrate on teaching lessons that will be helpful for the life of the puppy; how to stand still and be examined by their vet, how to give pills, basic grooming tips and how to trim toenails.
* Each session allows for a question and answer period to discuss problems with housebreaking, chewing, barking, jumping up on people, etc.
* This class will give you and your puppy a good foundation toward having a happy, obedient dog in your home. Training must either continue in the home, or by going on to further classes--the Puppy Classes are only a beginning to the lifelong relationship you will have with your "best friend".
* Scott County Kennel Club reserves the right to refuse class admission to any dog that is aggressive or not able to be controlled by its owner/handler.
